Nwric Aora Responds to the Fourth Independent Review of the Product Stewardship (Oil) Act

The National Waste and Recycling Industry Council (NWRIC) has commented on the independent review. NWRIC CEO Rose Read describes the scheme as an excellent success story for product stewardship.

“The Scheme has encouraged producers to take responsibility for their waste, has encouraged investment in recycling infrastructure, and created jobs, boosting the economy and importantly, protecting the environment.”

NWRIC largely supports the recommendations of the review but considers the linking of scheme benefits to changes in oil pricing as problematic.
